The activity of angling for the North American gamefish is immensely popular in the USA culture. The anglers who participate in the tournament and compete against others face a hard time in keeping a check of the real-time score and providing viewers with helpful fishing information. Our aim was to develop an application that manages all the tournament operations and keep the audience updated about upcoming events.
Building a great app takes time, strategy and continuous involvement. You have to double your efforts especially for apps that record all the operations - From scheduling, scoring, and standings to real-time notifications. After pointing out the possible hiccups that may come in the way during the development of the solution, we proposed the idea to bring the users an all-in-one tournament tracking solution.
The app is successful only when it satisfies the demand of the target users. Therefore, in order to understand the users' viewpoint regarding bass fishing tournament apps, we conducted research among anglers and audience and tried to figure out the needs and pain points.
After the user research, the next step is to hold a proper discussion session with the client before the solution goes into the development phase. This is commonly known as a product discovery workshop. As the name suggests, the primary objective of this session is to assess the scope of the project as it helps in understanding the project requirement in a profound manner and assist in building a sustainable solution that perfectly lives up to the client's expectation.
The discovery workshop was conducted in the presence of the product manager along with our app developers and designers. As the client demanded of developing a bass fishing tournament app minted with essential features, we educated them with the critical aspects of a solution that goes well with their business requirements. In the end, we mapped the idea and explained the system behaviours and tasks to obtain the flow of actions to leave no loopholes.
