It is a mobility solution for the medical alert system used by caregivers and senior living members in elderly-assisted hospitals. This application allows old-age patients to get personal assistance without visiting the hospital.
The app further alerts the hospital staff in case of any emergency.
To build an application that serves older patients and helps them to get assistance at ease, we followed a five-step persuasive process which included in-depth identification of problems, a functional study of how the app is going to benefit users, being mindful of challenges, conducting problem-solving sessions with clients and eventually bring the application into being.
Hospital visits are convenient and easy but can we say the same for older people as well? People with old age are more likely to experience certain medical conditions. The reason could be anything but they eventually want to get rid of the inconvenience of hospital visits. We aim to develop an application that helps in carrying out treatment plans as well as providing in-house medication facilities to elderly patients.
On-call and shift overtime practices have greatly evolved over the years. The hospital management is aware of on-call requirements for hospital staff working in the elderly care division and dealing with obstetrical, home care, medical/ surgical, anesthesia care, and special care departments of hospitals. Therefore, an app that facilitates 24X7 special care to older people was needed to implement.
In order to define the specific goal for our healthcare communication app that also meets the client's expectations, it was needed to know the potential customers. This is why we carried out user research and understood what users who regularly going to use this app think about it.
The primary objective of an application is to live up to the client’s expectations and serve users the purpose of what it is designed for. After carrying out user research, we held a discussion session with our client to know our competition, market opportunities, and the audience we are targeting through a product discovery workshop. This workshop session helped us understand more about the application such as what would be the features of the application, how to keep it more user-oriented etc.
While discussing technical aspects of the application, we came across anticipating critical business challenges that may come up during the development phase of the application and how we can surmount those challenges. By the end of a discovery workshop, we outlined business goals and objectives and streamline the entire development process.
Conducting a competitive analysis before getting into the app development phase is important because it gives you an idea of your company’s advantage over its competitors and what customers are in need.
Developing a mobile app can be an intimidating experience and it is not as easy as it seems.
