Twenty AI pitches, no way to choose between them
A scoring workshop that ranks each use case on value, feasibility, risk and data readiness, then a build, buy or partner call for the top three.
QSS Technosoft helps health systems, physician groups, payers, healthtech and medical device companies decide where AI fits, then builds it: ambient clinical documentation, coding and prior-authorization AI, imaging AI, patient assistants and agents, wired into your EHR over HL7 and FHIR and governed to HIPAA, ONC and FDA guidance.

Trusted Partners
Healthcare AI succeeds or stalls on the plumbing around the model: the EHR interface, the data it is allowed to see, the clinician who signs off and the audit trail behind it. We have built that plumbing for healthcare clients since 2010, which is why our AI recommendations come with an engineer's estimate attached.

CHALLENGES AI TEAMS FACE
Healthcare organizations rarely lack AI ideas. They lack a way to choose between them, data that is ready, an EHR that will accept the output and a governance answer when the compliance team asks how the model was validated. Here is where we see teams get stuck, and how we get them unstuck.
A scoring workshop that ranks each use case on value, feasibility, risk and data readiness, then a build, buy or partner call for the top three.
We test data access and write-back on your actual Epic, Oracle Health, Meditech or athenahealth environment through FHIR, HL7 v2 and vendor APIs before the pilot is approved.
Every output shows its source, every clinical action needs a named person's sign-off, and accuracy is measured on your own patients before go-live.
We map each feature against FDA's January 2026 clinical decision support guidance and design the documentation, change control and validation evidence your regulatory counsel will need.
HIPAA-eligible model hosting under a BAA, no training on your data, de-identification where it fits, prompt and response logging, and access controls tied to your identity provider.
Production monitoring for drift, bias and hallucination, with alert thresholds, a named owner and a tested rollback.
OUR SERVICES
Strategy without delivery leaves you with slides; delivery without strategy leaves you with pilots. We cover both, from the first scoring workshop to the model running in production.
Healthcare AI consulting: strategy, readiness and use-case scoring
An honest read on where AI will pay back in your organization and whether your data, systems and people are ready for it, ending in a costed roadmap your board can fund.
Ambient clinical documentation and charting AI
Ambient and dictation-based documentation that turns the visit conversation into a draft note, codes and orders for the clinician to review, written back to the EHR in the right fields.
Coding, revenue cycle and prior-authorization AI
AI that reads the chart the way a coder or authorization nurse does, suggests the answer with the evidence beside it, and leaves the decision with your staff.
Imaging AI and AI-enabled medical device software
Imaging models and device software built with the lifecycle discipline FDA expects, from the DICOM pipeline to post-market monitoring, alongside your regulatory team.
Patient assistants, agentic AI and clinical knowledge search
Generative AI that answers from your own policies and records, and agents that complete multi-step work across your systems, with a person approving anything that matters.
AI governance, validation and production monitoring
The controls that let you put AI in front of clinicians and patients and defend it later: an inventory, a validation record, a monitoring plan and a person accountable for each model.
AI in healthcare is judged on the joins: the note that lands in the right EHR field, the prior-auth packet the payer accepts, the model your compliance team can explain. QSS brings 16+ years of healthcare engineering, dedicated HL7, FHIR and DICOM practices and an AI team that builds what it recommends.
Every recommendation carries an engineer's estimate, because we are usually the team asked to deliver it. You get one partner from scoring workshop to production, with nothing lost in a hand-off.

Healthcare AI sits under more rules than most software: privacy law, health IT certification, device regulation and a growing set of state AI laws, several of which changed in 2026. We design each use case to the rules that apply to it, and can show you how, control by control.
HIPAA-eligible model hosting under a BAA, no training on customer data, minimum-necessary prompts and de-identification where the use case allows.
Source-attribute information for each decision support tool, following ONC's HTI-1 requirements and tracking the HTI-5 changes now proposed.
Each feature mapped to FDA's 2026 clinical decision support guidance; device software built with design controls and a PCCP where needed.
Disclosure, human-review and utilization-review rules from the states you operate in, such as California, Texas and Colorado, applied per use case.
Local validation, subgroup performance and documented limitations before go-live, repeated after every material change.
AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, MFA, role-based access and SMART on FHIR scopes for every AI service.
Every prompt, output, approval and data access logged and exportable for OCR, payer or internal review.
Prompt-injection and data-exfiltration red-teaming, third-party penetration tests and vulnerability findings tracked to closure.
Best for a defined start. A readiness assessment, a proof of value or a single production use case, with fixed price, milestones and a clear go-live date.
Best for an ongoing program. Named AI engineers, data engineers, integration specialists and QA who work as an extension of your team.
Best when you want to own the capability long term. We build and run the team and the AI platform, then transfer both to you on an agreed timeline.
We choose models and tools for the use case, including ones we don't resell, and we keep healthcare data standards at the center so AI output lands where clinicians work.
Every AI program is scoped to its data, integrations and risk, but buyers deserve a straight answer. These are typical ranges based on our delivery history and current market rates.
Use-case scoring, data and EHR readiness check, build-or-buy review and a costed, sequenced roadmap

Healthcare AI consulting helps you decide where AI will pay back and how to deliver it safely. With QSS that means scoring your use cases on value, feasibility, risk and data readiness, assessing your data, EHR access and governance, comparing build, buy and partner options, and producing a costed roadmap. Because we also build, the same team can take the first use case into production.
A readiness assessment and roadmap typically costs $7,500–$18,000. A first production use case, such as ambient documentation or coding assistance integrated with one EHR, typically costs $45,000–$130,000, and an enterprise program with several use cases on a shared platform $140,000–$600,000 or more. Model hosting and usage are extra and depend on volume. You get a range specific to your scope after the discovery call.
An assessment and roadmap takes 2 to 5 weeks. A first production use case usually ships in 8 to 16 weeks, depending on data readiness and EHR integration. An enterprise program runs 5 to 10 months, with use cases going live in stages rather than all at the end.
Buy when a proven product covers the workflow, integrates with your EHR and meets your privacy terms; ambient scribes are often in this category. Build when the workflow is specific to you, the data is your advantage or license costs at scale exceed owning it. Part of our healthcare AI consulting work is running that comparison honestly, and we recommend tools we don't sell when they fit.
Yes. We integrate through FHIR R4, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks and vendor APIs for Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Meditech, athenahealth, Allscripts (Veradigm) and others, so drafts, alerts and summaries appear in the clinician's workflow and write back to the right fields. We have delivered 20+ EHR, EMR and HIS integrations.
Yes, with the right setup. We use HIPAA-eligible model services covered by a business associate agreement, configured so your data is not used to train the vendor's models, send only the minimum data each task needs, de-identify where possible and log every prompt and response. Where a cloud model is not acceptable, we deploy open-weight models in your own environment.
It depends on what it does. FDA's clinical decision support guidance, updated in January 2026, excludes many tools that support a clinician who can review the basis for the recommendation; software that analyzes medical images or signals, or drives treatment on its own, is usually a device. We map each feature against the guidance and build device software with design controls and a predetermined change control plan, but the regulatory decision and any submission sit with you and your regulatory counsel.
ONC's HTI-1 rule requires certified health IT to support source-attribute information for decision support interventions, including 31 attributes for predictive tools covering training data, validation, performance and fairness. The HTI-5 proposal published in December 2025 would remove much of this "model card" requirement, but it was not final at the time of writing. We build transparency information into every decision support tool either way, because buyers and AI committees ask for it.
Several. California requires disclosure when generative AI is used in patient communications, Texas requires providers to disclose AI use in care, Illinois bars AI from acting as a therapist, and a growing number of states require a human to make coverage denials. Colorado replaced its broad AI Act in 2026 with a narrower notice-based law that takes effect in January 2027. A December 2025 executive order challenges state AI laws, but they stay in force unless a court or Congress says otherwise. We map the rules for the states you operate in.
Agents get only the permissions their task needs, work from approved tools, pause for human approval before any action that reaches a patient, payer or record, and log every step. We test them against failure cases and prompt-injection attacks before release and monitor them afterward.
We build a test set from your own data, measure accuracy against clinician-reviewed answers, report performance by age, sex, race and ethnicity, payer and site where the data allows, and document known limitations. The same tests run again after every model, prompt or data change.
Start with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for most knowledge tasks: answers come from your current guidelines, protocols and policies, with the source cited, and updating knowledge means updating documents. Fine-tuning helps when you need a specific style, format or specialty vocabulary that prompting and RAG cannot deliver. Many systems use both.
A scored list of use cases, a readiness report covering data, EHR access, infrastructure, skills and governance, a build-or-buy view for the top candidates, the risks and regulatory questions for each, and a costed, sequenced roadmap.
Yes. We build workflows that check whether authorization is needed, gather the documentation from the chart, assemble the request and track status, using the Da Vinci CRD, DTR and PAS standards behind the CMS prior-authorization API requirements due January 2027. For payers, a clinician makes every adverse decision.
We agree the baseline and the target metric before the proof of value, such as documentation time, coding turnaround, denial rate or authorization cycle time, then measure the same metric in the pilot and after launch, alongside model and hosting costs.
We monitor accuracy, drift, hallucination, bias and cost in production, alert a named owner when thresholds are crossed, retrain or roll back as needed, and apply regulatory changes as they arrive. You can keep us on support, move to a dedicated team or take the system in-house.
You do. Every model, prompt, evaluation set, pipeline and line of code we build for you is yours, documented so your team or another partner can run it.
We combine 16+ years in healthcare, 100+ healthcare projects and dedicated HL7, FHIR and DICOM practices with an AI team that builds what it recommends.
