Apple Just Released iOS 15 Update

Complete Guidelines For New IOS 15

Tech giant Apple has just released the latest version of its operating system, iOS 15. iPhone users can now update to iOS 15 and enjoy its amazing new features like Focus Mode, Live Text, SharePlay, and more.

iOS 15’s first look was introduced earlier this year at the virtual Worldwide Developers Conference with the developer beta being made available in June 2021.

While the last update (iOS 14.7) offered features like unlocking your iPhone with Face ID while wearing a mask, stopping apps from tracking you for advertising purposes, and choosing from four Siri voices, iOS 15 adds even more. Now you can make FaceTime calls with Android users, share anything on iMessage and get better directions in Maps.

Below are a few of the key new features that come with iOS 15, unveiled at WWDC 2021.

iOS 15 – Glimpse Of All New Features

FACETIME UPDATE

Considering how the COVID-19 pandemic has initiated a massive shift in the way work, education, and businesses function, Apple has updated its video calling software in iOS 15. As like in the ZOOM app, FaceTime will now present the participants with a video call in grid view. IPhone users can also add non-Apple users to FaceTime calls. And it’s still end-to-end encrypted, so your call is as private and secures as any other FaceTime call.

REDESIGNED NOTIFICATION BAR

Notifications have a new look, including contact photos and larger app icons to make them easier to identify. Apple has decluttered the endless notification bar and replaced it with an all-new Notification Summary function that will allow them to check unimportant alerts at specific times of the day.

APPLE MAPS

Apple users will now be able to view a wide range of elevation data, road colors, traffic and driving directions, and 3D landmarks, along with an improved night mode. Users can also pin nearby public transit stops and station information to their iPhone and Apple Watch devices, and receive automatic updates and notifications as they ride and approach the stop. Apple will also add an augmented reality feature to its map. With the help of the feature, one can scan buildings in nearby areas with the help of an iPhone’s camera.

MORE PRIVACY ADDED

iOS 15 provides increased visibility into how apps access your data, protects you from unwanted data collection, and gives you more control over what you choose to share.

Icloud+

Get everything you already love about iCloud — and new features including iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, and expanded HomeKit Secure Video support.

HIDE MY EMAIL OPTION

Instantly generate unique, random email addresses that forwarded to your personal inbox — so you don’t have to share your real email address when filling out a form on the web or signing up for a newsletter. Hide My Email is built into Mail,4 Safari, and iCloud Settings.

FOCUS MODE

Focus Mode is essentially a souped-up version of Apple’s existing Do Not Disturb feature, that allows users to establish specific apps and contacts to ping them at specific times. It allows them to filter notifications based on what they’re currently doing and helps organize app and widget pages on their iPhone’s home screen. Third-party app developers can incorporate Focus status in their messaging apps if they choose. This will lead to Focus status working with WhatsApp, Signal or others in the future.

It’s a tool that enables users to set different notification preferences depending on what they are doing. Based on your current status, you can select whether the phone vibrates, or makes a sound, or not. The focus will notify your iMessage contacts about your status, letting them know why they aren’t responding to your texts.

LIVETEXT

iOS 15 will also bring an all-new Live Text feature in photos which will allow users to copy numbers and text directly from photos. Live text will work in Photos, screenshots, Safari, and in the Camera app.

THEFT PROTECTION

iOS 15 will also feature additional theft protection. It will let users locate a lost or stolen iPhone even if it was erased.

SHAREPLAY

Since the coronavirus lockdowns kept many of us away from friends and family, Apple has introduced SharePlay, a software that would allow sharing movies, music, and screen with anyone a user is FaceTiming with.

IMESSAGE SHARING

iOS 15 will also come with an upgraded iMessage feature where news articles, pictures, or playlists that are shared with you by contact will now be collated in the “Shared with You” folder.

When a friend sends you multiple photos over iMessage, they’ll appear in a dynamic collage formation that allows you to swipe through them or tap through to view the whole bunch in your photos app. If you want to access the same photos later, you’ll find them stored in a new Shared with You folder, as well as mixed in with your own featured photos and memories. You’ll also find news articles and playlists shared through iMessage in the new Shared with You tabs in your News and Apple Music apps.

FACIAL RECOGNITION SELFIES TO VALIDATE DIGITAL CARDS

Apple has added ID card support for the Wallet app in iOS 15, allowing you to carry digital versions of government-issued identification cards like your driver’s license on your iPhone. According to code uncovered by 9to5Mac in the iOS 15 beta 4 for developers, Apple could be using facial recognition selfies to validate your digital ID cards when adding them to your wallet. Some banking apps already use this selfie validation feature to authenticate users when logging on with new devices.
